Back in 2010 I was hired by Navy Safe Harbor to document Team Navy as they competed in the first annual Warrior Games in Colorado Springs, CO. It was an amazing experience for me. I came away with some incredible images, and more importantly, I spent the week with some inspiring men and women who were gracious enough to share their stories and their trust with me.
Over the past few years I’ve shotseveralassignments for NSH, and I’m always thrilled to get a call from them. Not only is it usually a cool travel assignment, it’s also a chance to see people who I now consider my friends, and a chance to make new ones.
This past January I travelled to Hawaii for photograph the team as they participated in the Pacific Trials Training Camp at Pearl Harbor. It was a busy week of shooting, but it was great to be in Hawaii for the first time in forever, and so fun to be around people that inspire me and teach me to appreciate every day. A great first assignment of 2014! Enjoy :)
